Building a New Life in Recovery

Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab

After completing a Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment Program or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), individuals in recovery benefit from maintaining a close connection with a therapeutic environment through our Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Program.

Outpatient drug rehab and / or outpatient alcohol rehab services provide support, counseling and therapy to help patients overcome challenges and continue the healing process while transitioning out of a more structured program and back to regular life.

By participating in outpatient drug rehab and outpatient alcohol rehab, patients continue to make progress in their recovery, reaching new milestones of sobriety and ensuring daily routines support a lasting recovery. Patients work on developing healthy sleep, nutrition, exercise and recreation habits to enhance their health and well-being. During outpatient rehab, patients put the skills learned in earlier phases of treatment into use in the real world, gaining experience in successfully coping with the stress and pressure of work and family responsibilities as a sober individual.

Through ongoing therapy and counseling, patients continue to learn new life, communication and relationship skills, while becoming more comfortable and accustomed to practicing them in their daily routines.

Our expert outpatient drug rehab and outpatient alcohol rehab clinical team also continues to provide help with managing co-occurring conditions, ensuring that patients feel physically and mentally healthy, which increases the likelihood of sustaining sobriety.

A Possible Starting Point for Care

Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center’s Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab services may be appropriate as a starting point for care for patients with less severe alcohol or drug dependency. A patient who is appropriate for these services is motivated and committed to their recovery program, including following the recommendations of their care plan, attending Christian 12-Step Recovery Program meetings and working the steps with their sponsor.

While these individuals have demonstrated that they’re ready for a less structured level of care, they benefit from ongoing support as they put new skills to the test in the world outside of treatment. By staying in regular contact with the clinical team, individuals in recovery can receive guidance, advice and immediate help should they feel at risk of relapse.

In group therapy and the Continuing Care / Aftercare Group, individuals also create friendships and build bonds with other individuals who are committed to sobriety and their faith. These healthy, sober friendships are an important source of support for years to come.

Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Services

The transition out of more intensive programs and back into regular life is a time that must be handled with great care. During this time, we stress the importance of working on relationships with God, family and the self. Each is essential for true healing and freedom from drug and alcohol use. Our outpatient drug and alcohol rehab services include:

  • Weekly individual therapy, with a flexible schedule to allow individuals to go to work, school or volunteer in the community.
  • Family therapy, to help families continue to restore the bonds that may have been shattered because of their loved one’s behavior when using drugs and alcohol. The healing process for individual family members, as well as the family unit as a whole, doesn’t happen overnight.
  • Group therapy, where patients can feel safe freely discussing issues, giving and receiving advice from others, and celebration each other’s progress.
  • Continuing Care and Aftercare Group, where fellowship, love and encouragement of other Christians in recovery is vital as patients begin to spend more time outside of treatment. The Continuing Care and Aftercare Group is a time to talk about difficulties and solutions, and hold one another accountable.
  • Random urine drug screens.
